The Above the Earth Series is a collection of fluid abstract art canvas paintings inspired by the natural beauty and complexity of the planets surface when viewed from above. This collection attempts to portray the intense diversity in color and broad variety of stunning abstract shapes found on earth and hopefully describes how intricate and unusual the earth surface can look from the skies.
I grew up in Glasgow, Scotland—Inspired by the great art and industrial architecture of the city including the well known Glasgow School of Art...The beautiful rural buildings and industrial textures within the city.
After my studies I fell in love with Abstract Art. It allows me to express ideas much better than I ever could with words. I'm extremely passionate about my work and art as a whole and have been happily creating my paintings from my studio in Glasgow's West End for the past 7 years.
Experimenting with new and unusual methods as much as I can, I try to approach painting in different ways. The introduction of extreme heat and cold temperatures to manipulate the wet materials is something that is a lot of fun to do and have lead to some of the most unexpected and interesting paintings I've created so far.
Using 'out of the box' approaches to art can lead to such unexpected beauty.
