Natural patterns inspire my work. Some are biological patterns on the cellular level of organisms. Others are geological patterns of earth's natural landscapes. Exploring both static and dynamic patterns in nature, my work connects the dynamic qualities of landscapes and life forms, physiology and physics, death and detritus, growth and form.
Born into in a family of naturalists and scientists, I grew up near St Louis, MO and then went on to receive my BA from Pomona College in Claremont, CA, and my MFA from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago. I live and work in New York City and Norfolk, CT.
